Mark Smith is the Deputy Managing Director of SLS, having previously had joint responsibility for the UK arm of Knowles, a public company which specialised in the provision of legal services within the construction sector. Mark has a wide and varied background having worked in both private practice and for contracting organisations as a chartered surveyor prior to being called to the Bar in 1995 and subsequently being admitted as a solicitor.
Mark has acted for parties at all points of the contractual chain on both contentious and non-contentious matters within the UK and Europe ranging in value from several thousand pounds to several hundred million euros.

Mark provides pragmatic and commercially focussed legal advice aimed at helping parties achieve their goals. He is experienced in the drafting, analysis and negotiation of contract documentation and has represented numerous parties in arbitration and adjudication proceedings.
