Solicitor, Engineer and Quantity Surveyor
Paul’s experience in the construction industry started in 1988. Since then he has worked as a quantity surveyor, commercial director and subsequently as a consultant for a large well known legal consultancy before becoming a solicitor.
He is experienced in working with clients, contractors and sub-contractors on a variety of projects including hospitals, petro-chemical, power generation, oil and gas extraction, holiday villages, prisons, steel works, motorways, roads and bridges, water treatment, waterways, and various other building and civil engineering projects. These involved various standard forms of contracts as well as bespoke forms.
In addition to his academic technical and administrative qualifications in engineering and construction management, he is qualified in law (LLB and PG Dip Legal Practice). He is currently studying for a master’s degree in law (LLM) and is qualified as a Solicitor. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Building, Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, Society of Construction Law, and of course the Law Society.

Paul has extensive experience in training; contract risk analyses, drafting and negotiation; delay and disruption analyses; loss and expense applications; damages claims; final account preparation, negotiation and settlement; and ultimately dispute management and resolution.
